• Holiday Inn Express
I've stayed in Holiday Inn Expresses across the country during the past year...probably 10 of them. The hotels and the rooms are uniformly clean, spacious, comfortable and have free Wifi. Why is it that the lower the cost of the hotel, the more likely it is to have free wifi?
The free breakfasts vary widely, but the food is fresh (if, in some places cold)and gets you out the door with food in your stomach.
So far this chain has proved dependable.
• San Francisco
6 years ago SFO was a dump. Now with all the addition of an international terminal and renovations in the main terminal it's excellent. Still long walks in some parts but clean, lots of light, and lots of art on display. You can get there by public transportation, or a cab ride for under $30....One thing missing for this big provider of service to the Valley is free Wifi.
• Orlando
When Disney chose to locate in Orlando, they went to the city and said--WE will design the airport. The user experience needs to be friendly and fun from the time they step off the airplane. It's so good that Tampa basically stole the plans and has the same airport design. Why don't other airports do this? And, free Wifi!
• Seattle-Tacoma
What I love about Sea-Tac is that it never closes. I came in on a flight at 3AM and the coffee shops and some of the food vendors at the C-concourse food area were open. Sea-Tac also has benches you can actually lie down on for naps. Only thing missing? Free wi-fi.
• Portland, OR
Portland's airport is airy, easy to get to by mass transit, close to downtown, and has just the right amount of amenities without overloading your senses and assuming you are flying just to shop.

• Cold Mountain
Cool, I have heard about this book a couple times, but never checked it out. I guess if it is at the top of your list I will have to check it out some...
