#1 on Best Comic Books (Limited Series/Graphic Novels) based on 14 rankings

ranked #1 by ben: "My absolute favorite comic book of all time. Some favor 'Batman: Year One' for it's realism and simplicity, but I think TDKR wins overall due to it's epic scope and depth. Every time I read this book, I discover something new.

The characterizations of Jim Gordon, Batman, and the Joker are all perfect and set the tone for comics for decades. Joker doesn't get much more creepy or evil than in this book and it explores the relationship between Batman and Gordon, which is also at the heart of Year One. Yes, this Batman is undoubtedly dark, but not beyond redemption - and there are many moments in this book that put a huge smile on your face."

I love the ending, seriously this is one of the books that can really hook people on Batman and graphic novels in general."
